Paige stared at the paper before her, reading it over and over checking for any mistakes. Swallowing, she stood and made her way downstairs, entering the kitchen with her bag in tow.

"Mornin', dear," Mother said, smiling at Paige warmly. She nodded and greeted her mother as well as her father, taking a sip of her orange juice after sitting down.

Her thoughts raced. She was so scared. Would she be able to do it? Truly do it? Finally? Gulping, Paige stood and grabbed her bag muttering to her parents about having to do something at school early. She rushed out the door and down the street.

Ten minutes later, she arrived at school and ran to the third floor of her High school. Looking around for anyone, she quickly found locker 753 and carefully slid the letter in the locker. Looking around once more for anyone then sliding over a little to her own locker three down.

The first bell rang after roughly ten minutes and students began to fill the hall. Opening lockers and taking their books, all the while talking to their friends.

"Paige!"

Said girl turned and smiled widely at seeing her best-friend, Matthew, running towards her.

"Hey, Paige, how are you this fine morning?" he asked as he opened his locker, grinning at her widely.

"Great, you?" Paige asked, tucking a piece of her hair behind her ear.

"Awesome!" he replied, pulling his books out and closing the locker, putting the lock on it again.

They both turned as laughter filled the halls; there he stood at locker 753. Looking over the letter she had put in there. Paige felt her cheeks burn ever slightly as she watched him read it and his friends as well.

He seemed to contemplate something as his friends laughed and grabbed at the letter, tossing it to each other. He turned and his gaze locked with Paige's as he paused. She felt her eyes widen and she quickly turned away, struggling to watch them from the corner of her eye.

"Man, Mason, what kind of a person can stand such sappy shit?" his best-friend laughed, tossing him the letter. Paige's heart broke at that, Matthew threw an arm around her shoulders, already knowing whose letter that was.

"Yeah, you're right," Mason replied him, tearing the letter up and tossing it in the trash as they left the hall. Paige turned; refusing to acknowledge the fact he had just laughed at her with his friends and ripped up the letter she spent hours on.

The warning bell came as they entered the classroom. The two sat at the back as she struggled to not let the tears fall. She tried to be brave and did her best, not wanting to seem hurt or give away that it was her letter because Mason was sitting right in front of her.

Paige made it through the rest of the day and managed to get home, having already ignored all the curious looks Mason had sent her throughout the day, finally in the safe haven of her room did she break down, crying like there was no tomorrow.
